The table puts lumens and lumens per watt side by side. The page shows each listing’s pack size and today’s price per light, so compare cost there. “Claim” means the number comes from the seller’s listing, not a maker’s page.

Brightness numbers to read twice
ELEKICO 8 ft LED shop light, 100W, 19,500 lm (pack size not listed)
The listing claims 19,500 lumens from 100 watts, which is 195 lumens per watt. That is the highest claim in our set. The UFO high bays here claim 150, and Barrina’s 10,000 lumens and 72 watts work out to 139. We found no maker page or test report for this one.6
POLARPRA 2-pack screw-in garage light
The title says 32,000 lumens. The bullets say 16,000 per light, with 2 lights in the box.7
LZHOME 72-piece hexagon garage light set
The title says 79,200 lumens. A bullet in the same listing says up to 52,800 lumens. The listing text we read states no watts for the set.8
Which shop lights are brightest, light by light?
By claimed lumens per light, ONLYLUX’s 300W high bay is first at 45,000, then ELEKICO’s 250W at 37,500 and Yihuven’s 200W at 30,000.1, 3, 4 Sunco’s 150W is 19,500, and Barrina’s BAX72 is 10,000.2, 5
The three brightest have no maker page. The two with one are less bright.
Which shop lights give the most light for each watt?
Worked out from the lumens and watts each maker prints, Barrina’s BAX72 comes to 139 lumens per watt and Sunco’s UFO to 130.2, 5 The ONLYLUX, Yihuven and ELEKICO high bays all claim 150, with no maker page.1, 3, 4
ELEKICO’s 8 ft strip claims 195 lumens per watt, the highest claim in this set and well above the 150 claimed by the high bays.6 We show the claim as listed. We found no maker page or lab report for it.
Do more lumens mean a better garage light?
Not past a point. A former utility lighting engineer, writing in Fine Woodworking, suggests about 50 foot-candles for a workshop, and says a woodshop can run up to 100.10 For a typical 400 square foot two-car garage, that is 20,000 to 40,000 lumens in total.11 One 45,000-lumen light is more than that.
Sunco also sizes its lights by ceiling height: the 150W size for 12 to 16 feet and the 240W size for over 20 feet.12
Which bright lights plug into a wall outlet?
Sunco’s UFO has a 60 inch cord, the ELEKICO 250W has a 5 ft plug cable and the BAX72 can be plugged in or hardwired.2, 4, 5 Check the cord on any other listing before you buy.
Questions people ask
What is the brightest shop light you can buy?
The ONLYLUX 300W UFO high bay claims 45,000 lumens, the most for a single light in our set. No maker page backs that number.1
Is a 195 lumens per watt shop light real?
It is the highest claim we found, and the listing shows no maker page or test report. Barrina’s 8 ft strip works out to 139 from its listed lumens and watts.5, 6
Why does a garage light title say 32,000 lumens?
Some titles count every light in the pack. The POLARPRA listing says 32,000 in the title and 16,000 per light in its bullets.7
How bright are hexagon garage light sets?
Read the bullets, not the title. One 72-piece set lists 79,200 lumens in the title and up to 52,800 in a bullet, and states no watts.8
High ceilings mean tall ladders. Use a stable one, turn off the power before you touch any fixture, and hire a licensed electrician for hardwired lights.
