About Afterglow
Afterglow helps you buy the right light, switch or outlet for one specific job, like a closet with no power or a garage with a 12-foot ceiling.
What we do
- We check every brand, not just one. For each question, we line up the products people actually buy and check each one against its maker's spec sheet or manual.
- We name the traps. Amazon titles often get key facts wrong. When a listing looks right but won't do the job, we say so.
- We pick for the job. Each page names one pick for most people and a few for special cases, with the reason in one sentence.
- We are not electricians. We tell you what each product needs. For wiring, turn off the breaker, and hire a licensed electrician if you are unsure.
Who runs it
Erin Rose, founder and editor. Erin's work is checking claims against primary sources: spec sheets, manuals and official records.
How we make money
We earn money when you buy through our Amazon links. As an Amazon Associate, Afterglow earns from qualifying purchases. We don't sell products, ads, sponsored posts or rankings.
Rules that keep our picks independent
- Brands can't pay to be included, ranked or picked.
- We pick by fit for the job, not by what pays us more. A product that fails the page's question never gets a buy button on that page.
- We don't accept free products in exchange for coverage.
- Every product we pick is buyable today, with the price and the date we checked it.
